Men's health care is about more than treating problems when they appear. It includes annual checkups, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, diabetes testing when indicated, prostate screening discussions, and evaluation of concerns such as erectile dysfunction or low testosterone.

What does a men's health checkup include?

A men's checkup at TruHealth covers your health history, vital signs, current medications, and a personalized screening plan. Blood pressure is checked at every visit, and cholesterol, blood sugar, and other labs are ordered based on your age and risk.

  • Blood pressure and heart-health screening
  • Cholesterol and blood sugar testing when indicated
  • Weight and lifestyle review
  • Prostate screening discussion at the right age
  • Mood and mental health screening

When should prostate screening be discussed?

Prostate cancer screening decisions are individualized. Guidelines generally recommend that men discuss screening with their provider, with shared decision-making typically starting around age 50, and earlier for men at higher risk, such as Black men or those with a family history. Your provider helps you weigh the potential benefits and harms.

What about erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is common and is often a clue to underlying health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease. Evaluation looks at the causes, not just the symptom, and treatment is coordinated with your overall health picture.

How does testosterone evaluation fit in?

Fatigue, low libido, and mood changes can have many causes, and symptoms alone do not establish a diagnosis of low testosterone. A proper evaluation combines your symptoms, health history, and appropriate laboratory testing before any treatment is considered.

Why do regular checkups matter for men?

Many men skip preventive visits until a problem appears, and that is exactly when conditions like hypertension and diabetes are most likely to go undetected. Regular checkups catch these problems early, when they are easiest to manage.
